Why attending Technical Conferences are important?

I recently attended one of the prestigious Global Testing Conference organised by Agile Testing Alliance. To just give the gist about this – the event had several insightful keynotes by some of the notable professionals in the industry, interesting panel discussions, technical demos, fun filled quizzes. So here are some of my observations based on my experience on why one must attend these conferences.

  • Enriching learning experience – I learnt many new things pertaining to latest technology and trends in Software Testing, Test Automation, AI ML in Testing to name a few. Got new perspective about testing, its approaches by some of the best testing professionals. Technical demos illustrated gave the good understanding on that which was theoretically presented
  • Connections – one comes to know about many wonderful professionals in the industry, their thoughts, insights, their works and area of their expertise. And connecting with people like them in the professional platforms like LinkedIn, Twitter helps one to grow and learn to be technical sound professional in one’s respective field
  • Ignites new ideas – It helps in igniting new ideas pertaining to something which we never thought before and expands our area of interests in it, which further aids us to persuade to the next levels
  • Improvises presentation/communication skills – Just by watching the style and the way some of the speakers present their topics gives us a better understanding on how one should present and communicate to the audience which helps us to improvise our communication and presentation skills

It’s worth sparing some time and investing oneself in something which is fruitful that in turn helps one in many ways by attending such conferences. Attending events like these also helps one to understand the gaps pertaining to their knowledge, skills which can be improvised by learning, unlearning, upskilling oneself. Agile Testing Alliance Global Testing Retreat #ATAGTR2021 was a knowledge-packed event well organised; this was in the weekend and the weekend was really well spent!
